Vendor Earnings Policy
Effective Date: 09 July 2025. Previous terms can be found here.
1. Published Videos, Live Streams, Inventory Items or Access Passes
For every Purchase of one of your Videos, Inventory Items or Access Passes by a Recast User (this excludes Replays and any Views during an Access Pass Period by a Recast User that has purchased an Access Pass), Recast will receive Recast Credits from the Recast User according to the Price. To calculate the cash amount due to you for that Purchase (which will be credited to your Wallet’s Earnings Total) we will deduct the following from the Gross Price of that item:
- If the Purchase was generated from a Recast User using a “Share & Earn link”, we deduct Recast Credits from the gross amount, in accordance with the “Share Ratio’ at the time of the Purchase you, the Vendor, have set for this Video or Inventory Item or Access pass.
The remaining Recast Credits will be converted into a cash sum (in pounds sterling) on the basis of 1 Recast Credit being equal to £0.01.
At this point, we then deduct from that cash sum, the following:
- any applicable taxes (including VAT or other sales taxes) at the prevailing rate in the territory where the Video or Inventory Item or Access Pass was Purchased, any other surcharges which we pay in connection with the Purchase or View, and our “Fee”, as described in our Schedule of Tariffs (which may be varied from time to time). This establishes the “Net Earnings”.
From the Net Earnings, if the Purchase was generated due to another Recast Vendor using a Share & Earn link or Host and Earn iFrame Widget to promote your media, the following deduction from the Net Earnings would apply:
- if the Purchase was generated due to another Vendor’s Brand using Share & Earn or Host and Earn, the amount you agreed to ‘share’ based on the Share Ratio at the time of the Purchase that you set for the Video or Inventory Item or Access Pass . This will establish your “Earnings”.
Finally, if you tagged other Vendors using the “Tag & Split” function, we will then deduct from your Earnings:
- The other Vendor’s split(s) of the Earnings based on the percentage you allocated to them for that Video or Inventory item at the time of the Purchase (unless an Access Pass was used to access the Video or Inventory Item, in which case no deduction will be made).
NB - ”Tag and Split” is not currently available on Access Passes.
The remaining amount after the deductions set out above will be the amount due to you for that Purchase. This will be credited to your Earnings Total in your Wallet.
All calculations are based on working to 3 decimal places for Recast Credits and 6 decimal places for Pounds Sterling (or as may otherwise be required by tax authorities etc).
Sharing Videos
If you share another Vendor Brand’s Page, Video, or Inventory Item using the Share & Earn function (either outside the Platform using the generated ‘Share & Earn’ link or via a ‘Host and Earn’ Recast iFrame Widget embedded on your Vendor Environment), and this generates a Purchase of an Item or an Access Pass, a percentage of the Vendor’s 's Net Earnings for the Item or Access Pass based on the Share Ratio (set by the Vendor) at the time of the Purchase will be credited to your Earnings Total in your Wallet. You acknowledge that by sharing Share and Earn links you are helping to grow RecastPay and increase Purchases of Videos, Inventory Items and Access Passes. As such you are providing Recast with a service and when you cash out VAT will be added, if applicable, to your Share earnings.
Tag & Split
If a Recast User Purchases a Video or Inventory Item published by another Vendor Brand and, at the time of the Purchase, you have been tagged by the Vendor using Tag & Split, you will earn your split of the Vendor’s Earnings based on the percentage they allocated to you for that Video or Inventory Item at the time of the Purchase (unless an Access Pass was used to access the Video, in which case Tag & Split will not apply). Your split of their Earnings will be credited to your Earnings Total in your Wallet. You acknowledge that by having contributed to the Videos or Inventory Items you are tagged in, you are enhancing the content available via RecastPay and helping to grow Recast. As such you are providing Recast with a service and when you cash out VAT will be added, if applicable, to your Tag & Spilt earnings.
Nb.”Tag and Split” is not currently available on Access Passes.
Currency exchange
All our calculations of your Earnings are made in Pounds Sterling and unless otherwise agreed with you we will make payment to you in Pounds Sterling.
