Get started with Recast for Business

Last updated:
October 10, 2024

Duration: Around 10 minutes

What you'll need

  • Your name
  • Vendor name
  • Company registered address
  • Primary contact email address
  • Primary contact job title
  • A name for your channel
  • A profile and background image for the channel in case you wish to embed a 'full channel' widget

1: Select a package

The first step to creating your account is to sign up for free. You do this via our subscription tool Recurly, and you can do so by clicking here.

Your package will say "1 year - trial" but don't worry, it auto-renews each year at zero cost. It's set as a 'trial' so you don't have to enter any billing details.

2: Create your Recast Publish account

Create your publisher account

Once you've signed up via Recurly, you'll automatically be taken to Recast Publish. Before you set up your vendor account, you'll be asked to first create a Recast user account, or if you already have one, you can sign-in with your existing user account details. You'll need to provide some details such as the primary contact for the vendor and once you've done that you can start setting up your channel.

Set up your channel

Your channel is your public-facing part of your Recast Publish account. Give it a name, description, profile image, and cover image that makes you easily recognisable. You'll take this brand across the web as you (and affiliates) embed and share your content.

For the best profile and cover image, please follow these guidelines:

  • Profile image: 1080 x 1080 pixels
  • Cover image: 1920 x 1080 pixels

Add channel admins

To add additional admins for your channel, first make sure they have signed up for a Recast fan account then go to the ‘Channel Admins’ tab. You will need to enter the full username for the fan account you want to add as a channel admin.

Tip: You can find your username by clicking on your account and then ‘Edit profile and data’

3: Get started with your content

You can upload or schedule your first piece of content by clicking the ‘New Video’ button and selecting the content type or try adding a channel trailer or channel pass. For more information, please follow these links:

4: Set channel live

Once you are all set up, you need to set your channel live. Once live, your content will be available on your widgets and available for affiliates to share your content on their widgets. You also need to sign the Recast Publish Ts & Cs (you may have done this as part of the sign-up process).
